Case in point: this past Monday.
The reason for our glum morning is a whole 'nother rant, but we decided to turn our frowns upside down with an impromptu trip to historic downtown. Think cobblestone streets, quaint little gift shops, dusty antique shops, friendly people everywhere - that's the downtown square. LOVE it, and we don't visit anywhere near often enough!
My girl is quite the little shopper these days, and she had a blast discovering all the little treasures.

And - of course! - posing in front of the full-length mirrors.

These concrete frogs are scattered throughout the area, each one decorated differently. This one made for a great sunny resting spot.

The couch at the art gallery was also good for sittin' a spell. Hmmm, I'm seeing a trend here. Apparently my kid likes to rest a lot?? (HA!)

The shops and frogs and rest-stops were all well and good - but none of those were Nadia's favorite thing. Nope, that honor was claimed by the SPICIES! I had bought a bag of Snyder's Hot Buffalo Wing Pretzels earlier, and the former Miss I-Don't-Like-Anything-Remotely-Spicy LOVED those things. Loved as in, I had to cut her off before she ate the entire bag in one sitting. Goodness. Hey, at least she's got good taste. They are seriously yummy, and I'm not entirely pleased that I had to share my snack! ;o)

I'd say it turned out to be a pretty darn good morning after all. Whoever said "The Mondays" are a bad thing?!

Too cute. Those frogs remind me of the painted cows all around NY for a while (not that I ever saw them in person).
Harrison is a "rester" too. Only he just pulls up a bit of floor to lay on - anywhere. The store, bank library, home, line at Disneyland if there is ground (which there always is) he'll lay down on it to rest.
Haven't tried the hot pretzels (we love spicy wings) now I want some!
We too had the painted cows. I'm guessing it's very similar. No matter how ambitious the kids are they ultimately will always want to sit down. Love the mirror shot.
I'd say you got the best of the Monday blues!
Has Nadia had a haircut?
Sippitydoodle? Is that the name of the store, or is that a saying?
Way to take the Monday blues by the horns!!! Looks like a perfect day to me. I love the shot of her posing in front of the mirror. So diva-ish.
Oh, how I wish I could say M and I spend days like that. Too bad we don't. I'm glad you've got these amazing pictures to remember such a sweet day!
Looks like you had a great time with your little model. She just looks so fun. It's funny that you have Snyder's all the way out there. I grew up about 10 minutes away from the factory that makes those.
Sounds like a good time was had by all....and I just L O V E Snyder's Hot Buffalo Wing Pretzels!! Yummm!
this set of photos are sooooooooooo adorable. I feel like I was there. :)
You know, I always have visions of taking my kids to cool locations around here but it never gets done. Great shots of a great day! I LOVE her posing in the mirror LOL! So very cute. :) Oh, and I hope my kids acquire the taste for spicies because I'd love to actually flavor the food more.
Did her hair grow overnight?! Look at how long those piggy tails are! That pose brushing back her hair is SO PERFECT!! Look at how in the moment she is there. No inhibitions at all. Thats what little girls are supposed to be like. I love it!
OMG! Hmmmm....maybe I DO want to try for a girl! ;) What an adorable set of pics to capture your day!
