Baby clothes and baby bellies

So, I guess it's time to end the suspense. The baby clothes - why were they out?

First, let me just say it was so much fun to read all your comments with veiled and not-so-veiled hints at another baby in my future.

And it's true! There will be an addition to the family!

But, she won't be my daughter. She'll be my niece.

You're not too disappointed, are you??

I will admit, I feel a bit badly about the tease now. I did it purposely, just to see how you all would respond - and you all responded exactly how I expected. And it was all fun and games, until I realized I had to dash the hopes expressed in all those eager remarks. Sorry!

Alright, so am I forgiven?? Good, then let's get on with this little niece of mine.

I told you a while back that my brother has a little one on the way, and her baby shower was Sunday. And that is why we had the bags of baby clothes out. I wanted to pull out some of my favorite little outfits from Nadia's baby days to pass along to her little cousin.

Nadia was fascinated by all big box of tiny clothes, and when I asked if she'd like to share a few with Uncle Tim's baby she was delighted. Bless her heart, she is a sweet, generous little soul! The"to give" pile grew rapidly as she declared that every single item she touched was for "my Tim's tiny little baby." She adores her Uncle Tim and she adores babies - combining the two is almost more joy than her little self can handle.

But I soon realized we had a bit of a misunderstanding. "Honey," I explained, "The baby won't be at the party tomorrow. She's still growing and growing in her mommy's tummy." Nadia didn't even pause before declaring "she will be born at the party then, and we will see her and kiss her."

Thankfully this did not happen, seeing as we're still 3 months from D-Day. But that tiny gal did come away from her first party with a trunk full of gifts.

When it was time to open presents, all 5 girls lined up on the ground for the seat in the house. And they did. not. move. until after the final gift was unwrapped and oohed and ahhhed over. I couldn't believe how fascinated they were!

Rapt attention

The cake might have been even better than the presents, tho. Look at those faces of longing!

Longing

Little L - soon to be replaced as the youngest in the family - is becoming quite the cheesy little ham at 15 months. She came over to me and kept pulling at the camera and scrunching her face into an irresistibly cute grin until I raised it to my eye and snapped a picture. Then she pointed at it until I turned it around for her to admire herself. Yay for willing and cute models!

Cheese

And one of the oldest granddaughter.

Little girl

And one of my own girl.

Penny for your thoughts

Did you notice that these pictures are from a baby shower and yet there's not a single one of the mommy-to-be? Yeah, I know - I'm kicking myself for that. I barely took any pictures, and none of MaryAnne or Tim. Her Grandma was snapping pictures of her nonstop, tho, so at least there are pictures!

Before I end this, I have to say how proud I am of my brother. Becoming a father at this point in his life was most unexpected, but he has embraced the idea and gone above and beyond. He has changed his life plans. He has spent untold hours stripping and refinishing a crib for his little daughter. This baby will be one lucky little lady to have him as a Daddy. Tim, I love you and I'm proud of the man you've become.

I was pretty sure you were trying to get us all to go down that road.....and pretty sure it wouldn't be you. I have a hubby that is a practical joker, so I am always skeptical. LOL

I ADORE that photo of the girls staring at the cake. SO awesome!

I kind of figured you weren't pregnant...I was pretty sure you wouldn't hold out on us until you knew the gender! But it was fun to think about, anyway :-)

Congrats to your brother and the mom-to-be!

You know you had me in such suspense that your blog was one of the first I checked this morning??

Congratulations to your brother and his family! This just reaffirms my happiness to have my daughter grow up alongside her cousins.

And I love all these shots. What beautiful children. My fave is the one of the girls looking at the cake.

I kinda didn't think that it was YOU - I figure when and if it happens you will not allude...you will spring it on as a full-blown surprise!! :-) So happy for your brother, sil, and their soon-to-be love of their life! It is so exciting...and oh, the girls!

GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS!! I love it!

Now, those photos are exquisite - your family turns out some gorgeous girls, I'm sure Tim is excited to see them running around and knowing soon it will be him!

And the longing for the cake pic - priceless!!

I love the cake picture too.
Both my boys love seeing themselves in the camera. I was shooting a short video of the baby cooing and whenI played it back I held it in front of him and he was cracking up at himself.
I love all the girls, my poor MIL has all boy grandsons, she so wants at least one girl.

The cake picture is adorable, and I love the one of Nadia at the end. When I had Ella's b-day party, I found myself taking pictures of the kids instead of any of the adults or guests that were there. Kids are so much cuter to take pictures of than adults.

Congrats to them! Those pictures are adorable...I don't think that you can top the one of the girls looking at the cake!

I didn't really expect those clothes to be coming out for you...although you sure were a stinker in suggesting that!

Being a day late truly served me well this time because I got to read your reveal before your tease! You're so bad!

Seriously sweet photography as usual. :)

Naughty!!! But how excited for your brother, sil and you! I'm so jealous. I would love to be an auntie but both my brother and BIL are confirmed bachelors. What are the odds?!?! You've given me a tiny sliver of hope!

Congrats to your bro. I was pretty sure it wasn't you since that hint was a little TOO easy! : )

A new baby girl. How very excting. Congratulations to your brother.

Another little cousin for Nadia. How lucky will your new niece be to have Nadia as her cousin. It's so sweet that Nadia is excited about the baby and she wants to give her some of her very own baby clothes.

Love
Elise

LOL...oh, you tease! I'm sure they are so happy to get all the baby clothes. I give all our kids clothes away to friends and just keep a few of the ones I can't bear to part with. That stack gets smaller all the time! I have many photos of them wearing clothes, so I don't need the clutter. I'm such a purger!

Love the shots of the party, too. Nadia is such a doll in that last one and yes, yay!! for the willing model. She is just too sweet. :)

I must write to tell you that I laughed. Out. LOUD! at the picture of the girls eyeing that cake! What an absolute RIOT! GREAT capture.

You will let us know if and when you decide to add to your own family, right?! Absorb that little niece until then.
